Membership

The BAC is everywhere you want to be -- whether its connecting with alumni to reminisce, networking for professional development opportunities, communicating your concerns to the University, or learning about the wealth of benefits available to the BAC and Mason community, the BAC is there!

Membership Benefits

• Invitations to BAC events- You will receive invitations to networking receptions, student welcome events,
  on-campus volunteer opportunities and events, and guest speaker dinners

Members are encouraged to participate in committees and other activities.

Who is Eligible?

All graduates of George Mason University will be eligible for membership.


Types of Membership (General, Voting, Honorary)

1. General Membership shall be any graduates of George Mason University

2. Voting Membership shall be any graduates of George Mason University who have given a membership gift of $25.00 or more within a fiscal year.

3. Honorary Membership may be conferred on a non alumnus/a who renders distinguished service or valuable assistance to the Chapter, the community, and/or George Mason University.

Each graduating class receives a one-year complimentary voting membership in the BAC (e.g., the class that graduated in the current year receive a complimentary voting membership).

Suggested Membership Gifts

The BAC welcomes all membership gifts, however, below are the suggested amounts based on the number of years you celebrate as an alumni:

1 Year + Alumni= $25

10 Year + Alumni= $50

20 Year + Alumni= $75

30 Year + Alumni= $100

How to Acquire Voting Membership

Alumni interested in voting membership should provide their membership gift of $25 or more online.

Please designate "GMU Black Alumni Chapter" in the "Other Established Fund" field.

OR

Complete the Voting Membership Form (PDF), and attach a check or money order payable to the GMU Foundation (with BAC in the memo section of the check).
